Y5 visit to Bamburgh Castle

On Monday, 12 pupils from Year 5 took a minibus to the beautiful Bamburgh castle to experience what the children described as their best day at middle school ever. Due to the pandemic, this is the first time Y5 had journeyed out of the school building in over 12 months.

The staff at Bamburgh castle made us feel like Kings and Queens for the day. Children were treated to a tour where they were informed of the castle's rich history. Children were then given the freedom to explore the castle grounds, take a walk through the village and even play on the village green. The children were impeccably behaved and a real credit to the school.

We even had this fantastic feedback from the castle staff the following day:

'We found the children so well behaved and I must say without a doubt the best behaved school we have had in to date.'

While we were at Bamburgh castle, we could see vans, cameras and so much action but we were sworn to secrecy and warned not to take pictures of the events. Since the trip we've realised what was going on...

After the trip, the hard-working Y5 children spent four days in the classroom producing a stunning recount all about their experience.
